Welcome to my web site. I am thrilled to be able to share my current work with you and hope you enjoy your visit. I am a retired art teacher having taught in various communities in New Jersey. I retired from Cranbury, New Jersey in 2011 after 31 years. It was a wonderful place to teach, grow and learn. But, now that I am retired I can dedicate my time to pursue my art work-collage, mixed media and acrylic painting.
I have always been drawn to color , texture and paper. These elements seem to pull the viewer into the work and create an immediate response and reaction. I feel that a piece of art should bring something to the viewer - joy, confusion, attraction and can either be positive or not. A relationship between the viewer and the piece is important and makes the art live.
I also like to work in a series, allowing each piece to develop from the previous one, with changes, sometimes dramatic, sometimes subtle, in each successive piece. Developing a series allows the artist to learn, adjust, explore a single point of view and open doors to new themes. Currently, I am developing a series of abstract mixed media collages . Through a series of workshops with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer and Elizabetth St. Hillaire I have developed a love and devotion to working with the gelli plate. It is fun, allows a great deal of experimentation and the results are wonderful. Using my own created papers within my work is exciting.
I am very pleased to be included in the Audubon Artists' Exhibit at the Salamagundi Club in NYC this Fall. I continue to teach and be involved with the Ocean County Artists' Guild in Island Heights, NJ, a wonderful place to get creative!
Again, thanks for your visit. Please come again. A price list is available on request. TWoronczuk@Yahoo.com
